Data Logger





The high speed data logger is a small aluminium enclosed plug and play module that records and displays sensor data both from the ECU and up to four additional 5v analog inputs such as AFR sensors. These inputs are are calibrated to +-0.1% so the 5v signals will always give accurate results.

It can also display and clear validated faults and run all of the standard actuator tests. Power is taken from the battery tender connector and the input cable is connected directly to the ECU diagnostic plug. 

It is firmware upgradable for any future additions or enhancements.

The main purpose of design was to simultaneously record road AFR and ECU data, then through my AFR software and the appropriate hardware enable tuning of the fuel maps within the ECU.   

Up to 3 sensor values can be displayed on the 2 line display at once.

When using a wideband sensor controller such as the Innovate LC-2 with maximum analog output rate of 12 samples per second we would need to log at least 24 samples per second to ensure good accurate data.


The configuration below would be used to collect data for tuning of the fuel maps within the eprom - This will log at 24ms intervals, thats over 40 samples per second. This high resolution of sample data will ensure accurate and complete logs covering all TPS and RPM points however fast the acceleration.

Time, RPM and TPS are always logged, each extra ecu sensor logged adds about 4ms to the log cycle.

Data is recorded in CSV format to a 4Gb Micro SD card - enough space for over 1000 hours of logging.

It is compatible with any motorcycle using the Magneti Marelli16m ECU such as MV Agusta, Ducati etc.
